The Company
Sjoa Adventure is an Internationally owned, Norwegian company, based on the ethos of personal service and professional competence. The management team and guides are all passionate about adventure and everyone, up to and including the Managing Director, get out on the water at least once a day.
We're proud of our International background and believe this is what seperates us from the rest. Sjoa is a small place and the vast experience we bring from working and playing around the world only adds to the final product.
The Team
The adventure experience is only ever as good as the person delivering it - that's why every staff member is hand picked to add something special to the company, be it world class performance, cutting edge coaching, exceptional customer relations, or all of the above.
In the off-season, most of the team can be found on expeditions to far flung destinations, training the next generation of adventure guides, or following one of their other passions, be it photography, skiing or education.
Safety
Adventure activities by their very nature maintain a level of inherent risk. Sjoa Adventure AS limit the risks involved in each activity using structured risk management systems and comprehensive operational procedures.
By employing only the most competent and experienced guides and coaches in the industry we significantly reduce the risks. All staff are internationally qualified in emergency medical care, swiftwater rescue, leadership and technical skill. Most staff are also qualified to degree level in risk assessment and adventure tourism management and have worked extensively with developing these structures for the industry in general.
All safety equipment is CE approved.
